NATIONAL DONUT DAY

While many people celebrate National Donut Day simply because they love donuts, the holiday actually has a meaningful history. National Donut Day was established by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the “Donut Lassies,” the women who served donuts, coffee, and comfort to American soldiers during World War I. Their simple act of kindness created a lasting tradition that continues to be celebrated across the country every first Friday in June.

At Cinotti’s, donuts have been part of our family story for generations. As a fifth-generation family bakery, we’ve spent decades creating fresh baked goods that have become part of our customers’ celebrations, traditions, and everyday routines. What started as a family baking tradition in Ohio has grown into a Jacksonville favorite, where locals stop by for breakfast, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, and, of course, donuts.
